When Hot Milk approached me to create a video for the remix of a song by Mark Hoppus (Blink-182) I just had to get involved as a lifelong fan of the band. However, with the pandemic in full swing it was impossible to go out and shoot a music video so I suggested creating an animated promo in the style of an 8-bit arcade game. I created the assets and animated the promo entirely in After Effects, featuring a number of Manchester landmarks.

The story had to tie into the bands concept of a giant corporation controlling the people with medication so I created a narrative of Mark Hoppus being kidnapped by the corporation (as music is now outlawed) and the band having to fight their way through an army of mind-controlled drones to get to their headline show, where a final action set piece involving a giant octopus took place.
