The client's goal was to challenge the public perception that Hilton Hotels was purely accommodation for people away on business. Hilton had teamed up with Dreamworks Animation, in association with their film 'Boss Baby', and were looking for a film that promoted their family offering. Objectives included increasing brand awareness and driving customer engagement.
The initial brief was to feature animated character assets in a slide show, however I wanted to challenge that concept and pitched an idea of placing Boss Baby in relatable moments taking place the hotels themselves. We shot scenes on location in both London and Manchester, where actors had to interact with a character that wasn't there. We then motion tracked and colour corrected the animated assets into the footage in post-production. Both Dreamworks and Hilton loved the idea. The film was a success and drove record engagement for Hilton Hotels online.
